Human Development Foundation Bangladesh (HDF) is a leading national organization dedicated to providing sexual, reproductive, and general health services to women, men, adolescents, and children across Bangladesh. In addition to our comprehensive health services, we focus on capacity-building training for government and NGO service providers, advocating for the establishment and protection of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Bangladesh.
Our goal is to enhance the sexual and reproductive health of women, adolescents, and vulnerable groups in Bangladesh. We focus on building a skilled workforce through specialized training programs, supporting the Government of Bangladesh’s National Health Program to reduce maternal mortality and address SRHR challenges. We are dedicated to improving SRHR services, especially in underserved areas, through a unique GO-NGO collaboration. Our centers in public hospitals and other key locations benefit from guidance by hospital directors and OB/GYN consultants. Leading a consortium of SRHR service providers, we leverage a network of like-minded organizations to extend our reach. Our nationwide infrastructure is supported by a skilled team of trainers and experts. We receive logistical support from the Government of Bangladesh, ensuring our services reach even the most remote communities. Looking ahead, we plan to expand training in areas like RTI/STI and Violence Against Women, increase service centers and satellite clinics, and enhance community-based programs on Safe Motherhood and Adolescent SRHR. Our efforts are backed by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and the Safe Abortion Action Forum (SAAF), UK. Each year, we provide essential health care services to approximately 600,000 individuals.
Our program activities include providing specialized training to develop a skilled workforce in sexual and reproductive health, delivering comprehensive health services through our network of centers and clinics, and conducting awareness campaigns to educate communities about sexual and reproductive health rights and practices. These activities work together to ensure high-quality care and empower individuals across Bangladesh.
