Human Development Foundation Bangladesh (HDF) is committed to improving the reproductive health status of women, men, and adolescents in Bangladesh, thereby contributing to national health goals. Since its inception, HDF has supported the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in reducing maternal mortality and morbidity.

Focusing on underserved populations, HDF offers services that prevent unwanted pregnancies and address reproductive health needs, including safe abortion and maternal care. With a network of 35 clinics and outreach centers across the country, HDF serves approximately 600,000 clients annually, reflecting the quality and satisfaction of our services.

HDF also plays a vital role in capacity building by training around 650 service providers annually from government, NGO, and private sectors in areas such as menstrual regulation and abortion management. Our unique collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh ensures that HDF centers, located within government hospital premises, are monitored and supported by government experts, ensuring the successful implementation of our programs.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate General of Health Services, Directorate General of Family Planning, and other government officials for their ongoing support. We are particularly thankful to the Swedish Government through Sida for their continuous support, without which our efforts to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in Bangladesh would not be possible. The guidance and encouragement from Swedish and EU dignitaries have been invaluable to us.

Our Executive Council deserves special thanks for their ongoing guidance, and I am deeply grateful to my colleagues at the head office and across the country for their dedication. We look forward to expanding our role in improving the health of Bangladesh’s people and dedicating ourselves to humanitarian causes.
